The Escapist
High Concept
The Escapist is a story-driven, multiple-ending 3D RPG featuring a young girl named Merope who must escape her dark, Cthulhu mythos-influenced nightmare.
Role in Development
On The Escapist, I served as the Producer, Game/Level Designer, and Scripter. My responsibilities included:

-
Creating a schedule for the 7-week project and each individual's workload
-
Developing the Game Design Document (GDD) and Mood Board for the artists
-
Designing level layouts (blockmesh)
-
Scripting gameplay sequences, including cutscenes, puzzles, and more
-
Implementing sound effects
-
Writing weekly reports for the team
Inspiration
The initial concept for The Escapist was primarily inspired by Quantic Dream games, in which different choices lead to completely different storylines. However, due to the constraints of a small team and a short development timeframe, the game was scaled down to three levels consisting of ten scenes. The gameplay and environment design drew significant inspiration from Resident Evil 4 and 7, where the character navigates small rooms using a third-person camera perspective.
